Throughout my career, I became increasingly frustrated as I watched the industry I love, slowly be consumed by an automotive service style. In my opinion, this discourages customers from performing their own maintenance, making most components virtually unserviceable and making any major work unaffordable.
By being an independent contractor, it allows me to offer more affordable prices, work on older models and allows direct communication with the mechanic.
